Understanding autism

Autism is not a deficit.
It's a different way of being.

The autism spectrum is not a line from mild to severe — it's a rich, multi-dimensional profile of strengths, differences and individual needs. No two autistic people are the same.

A diagnosis isn't a label to limit your child. It's a map — one that helps your family, their school and their support team understand how they experience the world, and how to support them in the way that actually works for them.

🧠
Autism is neurologicalIt reflects differences in how the brain is wired — not a disease, disorder of parenting, or something to be fixed.
🌈
The spectrum is multidimensionalIt includes differences in social communication, sensory processing, flexible thinking and more — each person's profile is completely unique.
💡
Early understanding mattersKnowing earlier means accessing the right support sooner — in school, at home and in life. It also helps your child understand themselves.
🤝
Families deserve clarityThe assessment process can feel daunting. My job is to make it feel manageable, meaningful and genuinely useful for your family.
